Correcting Whiplash Injury - A Case Study
At Complete Health Chiropractic Littleton, we only utilize techniques of spinal care that will offer our patients the best possible outcomes from neck pain, back pain and a variety of other health problems. The blog article this week is summarizing a study on the management of whiplash injury due to a work accident. Complete Health Chiropractic is the only Littleton Chiropractor to be certified in and use Chiropractic BioPhysics to restore normal spinal alignment.
Whiplash can be caused by a variety of events. In the city of Littleton and Denver Colorado, the most likely causes are probably car accidents and skiing injuries. Whatever the cause of the injury, a lot of them will go untreated properly. This leaves people suffering from chronic pain for many years due to this mismanagement of the neck injury. In the case study I am summarizing today, the patient had a whiplash injury due to an incident as a mining worker. The patient was a 31 year old female who had been suffering from neck pain and headaches for the past 12 years correlating with a whiplash injury at work. She had sought previous chiropractic care which did not work for her or resolve her symptoms. The patient was treated with 30 sessions of spinal manipulation, neck extension exercises and cervical extension traction over a 5 month period.
This case study was published in 2017 so there have been no long term follow up on this patient with radiographs. There are other studies that have long term follow up showing a maintenance of the normal cervical lordosis after restoration has been achieved using Chiropractic BioPhysics Technique.
