Asthma is a condition that causes inflammation of the lining of the lung, airway muscle spasms and excess mucus production in the lungs. These symptoms cause coughing, wheezing and may even prevent participation in sports and activities. Asthma most commonly affects school-aged children, but can be present at any age.
Luckily, chiropractic can help relieve the symptoms of asthma. The nerves that go to the lungs and airways originate in the neck and upper back. This means that when we find and correct a misalignment in these areas we are improving the lung function and decreasing the symptoms of asthma. If you or someone you knows suffers from asthma, let them know that chiropractic can help them breathing easier!
